Dr. Elizabeth M. Reilley is the Chief AI Officer for the University of North Carolina (UNC) System Office, supporting the state’s 16 public universities, a high school, and affiliates including healthcare and media outlets. Elizabeth helps guide system-wide and system office strategy for AI adoption by strengthening innovation, operational excellence, and the collective capacity to support student success, academic quality, and public service. A frequent invited speaker in education, technology, and EdTech forums, Elizabeth focuses on practical strategies, evidence-based applications, evaluation, and responsible innovation in AI and data.

Elizabeth comes most recently from Arizona State University where she last served as the inaugural Executive Director, AI Acceleration, with Enterprise Technology and previously led work in Data and Analytics. Prior Elizabeth worked at the UNC System Office as the Director of Data of Data Analysis and Policy Research in the Division of Strategy and Policy and held roles in IT and Academic Affairs. She holds a PhD in Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation and an MBA from UNC Greensboro and a BA in Philosophy and Community & Justice Studies from Guilford College.
